1967 Ford Mustang

I was finally going to be able to experience what I built my Mustang for. And my Hotchkis TVS2 suspension did not disappoint! Open Track Racing is the closest I want to get to actually hard core racing. I drive 100 miles to Willow and run hard all day. Then turn around and drive back home.

Hotchkis Sport Suspension used my ‘67 Fastback to design front and rear sway bars for ‘67-‘70 Mustang’s. Then debuted the sway bars an suspension at SEMA with Patrick Warburton’s ‘69 Charger.

I literally finished putting my Mustang back together after getting it repainted. the night before leaving to San Francisco to celebrate the 45th Anniversary of BULLITT. I bought my Mustang on the day Steve McQueen died. I had it painted in his honor. I meet his son Chad and he autographed my dash.

I rear ended a small pickup and bent the nose of the hood and head light buckets. Didn’t even break the headlights. So, I thought I’d sand down the car and get it repainted in a few months. Well, life decided otherwise. I became a father and it took 28 years before I could afford a paint job.

In 1984 I bought all the parts to rebuild my engine from the Machine Shop I was going to have do the rebuild. Every week I would buy something. Then I decided to put a Borg-Warner T-10 4 Speed in it. McLoad clutch and scatter shield and Hurst shifter. It took a year but I learned a lot.

I wanted to put American Racing Torque Thrust Originals. But, A/R no longer made them at that time. So, I had to settle for A/R 200S’s 14x7’s with 235/60/14’s all four corners. And Air Shocks to get the right height.

The very first day I drove my Mustang home from the used car lot. Just a little ‘ol' “C” code nothing special. Yet
